Another quiet start to the trading day but volatility should pick up tomorrow with the RBNZ Monetary Policy Statement and Australian Employment data on tap. The RBNZ is widely expected to raise their Official Cash Rate(OCR) from its current level of +2.50% in an effort to combat the inflationary pressures fueled by the surge in housing prices. In doing so, they would run the risk that their currency would appreciate further which would have a deleterious effect on exports but, it appears that this is a risk they are willing to bear. Australian Employment is expected to rebound from the anemic numbers posted last month. The consensus is that the economy will have added +15k workers while the unemployment rate stays steady at +6.0%. AUD/USD is lower in part due to traders probably being a bit leery of another weak print.
