
The stock market in Tokyo rallied to a near three-week high on Tuesday, as manufacturers and exporters benefited from the weaker yen. Dollar-yen rose to 99.75 from 99.10 (+0.65%). The benchmark Nikkei average rose 2.2 percent on the day to close at 14,588.68, the highest level since Oct. 23.
The Topix rose 1.7 percent to 1,205.41 and all of its 33 participating stocks were in positive territory. Exporters like Sony Corp. rose 3.6 percent while Advantest Corp. rose 3.2 percent .
