FX speculators go short the dollar

Currency speculators bet against the U.S. dollar in the weekended Oct 8 for the first time since the week of February 12, according to data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission released on Monday and one major house calculation.
The value of the dollar's net short position was $3.28 billion in the week ended Oct. 8 compared with a net long position of $692.8 million in the week ended Oct 1.
The change in positioning came mostly from a reduction in yen net shorts to the lowest since November 20, 2012. cftc
