FX Speculators Cut Net Long Dollar Bets a Fourth Straight Week

cftc tradingFX speculators cut their net long U.S. dollar bets for the fourth straight, according to one major house calculation using CFTC data released Friday but collated through to the prior Tuesday. The dollar value of the greenback's net long position fell to $17.62 billion in the
week ended Aug. 13 from $21.62 billion the previous week. Speculators have been net long the dollar since mid February.
Much of the change in the latest period was from a rise in net euro long positions, rising for the second straight week. Net euro long positions were 16,057 contracts or USD2.7 billion. Aussie net shorts fell to USD5.7 billion.
