Heavy data week ahead in the U.S.A. Monday brings the Federal Budget for July. Tuesday, import and export prices for the same month as well as retail sales. Wednesday sees the producer price index for July with the consumer price index coming on Thursday. Thursday the heaviest data day of the week with initial weekly jobless claims, Treasury International Capital flows (TICS), the Philly Fed business index for August and the NAHB homebuilders index for August alongside CPI. Friday’s data includes housing permits and building permits for July, second quarter productivity and labor cost reports, and the preliminary University of Michigan sentiment survey for August. The only Fed speaker of note is Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Dennis Lockhart on Tuesday speaking on the economic outlook in Atlanta. Q&A is expected from both media and the audience. Atlanta is not currently an FOMC board member but will be in 2015 and an alternate member in 2014.
