Bernanke Speech Keeps Markets Jumpy

Federal Reserve Chairnan Ben Bernanke will discuss the central bank's  first 100 years in a speech at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Boston D.C., beginnnng at 4:10 pm. The presentation is titled: “The First 100 Years of the Federal Reserve: The Policy Record, Lessons Learned, and Prospects for the Future.”  The speech wiil be before an audience of economists and analysts will be followed by questions.

The speech will be academic in nature but it is always possible that the chairman will comment on Fed policy in the questions.
